Technology enhanced lesson

A few days ago, I did a lesson introducing number words as adjectives. I used the promethean board to do so. When I told the class we were going to use the board, they were so excited and it felt like they paid attention better because they know that if they don't behave, then they won't get to use the promethean board. For the lesson, I introduced the words and sentences were projected onto the board. The students got to come up and underline the number word. They got them all right, so I guess my lesson was a success!

Technology Lesson Idea

Technology is what we have been learning since day 1 in this class. There is a lot of technology in the school that I am in. For my lesson I will use the prometean board. This is a tool that teachers and students can use. The lesson will be a shared writing lesson. This week, we have been learning how to write a how to: make something. Next week will be how to build something. An example is how to build an ice cream sundae. As a class, we will discuss what steps should be included in our paper. By drawing sticks, students will come up and write one word per student. They will write on the promethean board. From my time in the classroom, students love the board, and to use it in any way.

technology inventory

Being in the schools has been a blast! I am at Sunset View Elementary in Provo. The school has a lot of technology in it and I have enjoyed seeing how teachers actually use it. In every classroom, there is a Promethean Board. They are interactive and the students really seem to like using it. They can read stories, play games, write, and many other things. The classroom has 6 mac computers for student use, and the teacher has her own macbook. That is a huge benefit, because during center time, on of the centers is to play "educational" games on the computer. Also the school has computer carts with macbooks in it for use in the classroom. Every friday, my class has them to take a test on it. They take literacy and math tests on the computers. Every class has a small tv and vcr/dvd player. My teacher never uses it because she would use the Promethean Board instead. Overall I am enjoying my time in the classroom. It is a great experience.
